Meet the ACT Tote

The tote is the cold room. Each actively cooled tote (ACT) holds its own refrigerated or frozen setpoint with a compressor-free, solid-state thermoelectric heat pump. Heat is carried away using only water mixed with CO2, so there are no HFC refrigerants anywhere in the tote and the working fluid has a GWP of 1. Insert sleeves divide each tote into compartments sized to the product, and every tote reports its temperature in real time. Empty totes power down, so energy goes only where product is stored. For inventory that fits a tote, there is no cold room to build, power, or staff.
